Hyderabad, June 19 : In the ongoing drive against offenders who have become anti-social elements by cheating youths in the guise of providing jobs and peddling Ganja, the Rachakonda Commissioner of Police today detained two notorious Goondas/Cheaters/drug offenders under Preventive Detention Act and lodged them in Central Prison, Cherlapally.
One Mohd Kifayath Ali of Warangal was involved in three cheating and one murder case this year under the limits of Cyberabad, Rachakonda and Warangal Commissionarates. He has been detained under PD Act.
In an another case, one drug offender identified as Gandasiri Nagaraju, who hailed from Mahboobabad District, was involved in five cases of Ganja trafficking offences under the limits of Hyderabad City, Cyberabad and Rachakonda since 2013. He was also detained under PD Act.
Mohd Kifayath Ali, a graduate, hatched a plan to cheat gullible public in the guise of providing them government jobs. As he worked as a student leader, he was familiar with the officials working in the Telangana State Secretariat. He formed a gang with his uncle Moiuddin, Prasad and others and posed himself as “Assistant P.A to Chief Minister Advisor” and tagged a name board in front of his houses at Warangal and Hyderabad.
He made the gullible people to believe that he has influence in the Telangana Secretariat and he could provide jobs in government/Public Sectors and also he could manage transfers of the Government employees to their convenient places. He takes the amounts from the public and issues them post dated cheques as guarantee. Thus, he duped some 20 job-seekers from Hyderabad and Warangal areas and collected more than Rs 70 lakh and bought landed properties in Hyderabad and Warangal. The accused also did not hesitate to eliminate those threatened him to reveal his criminal activities. Thus, the accused along his gangsters killed one Prasad by stabbing him at Medaram under Tadwai Police Station. Most of the victims got frightened to lodge complaints with the police
Drug peddler remanded
The LB Nagar police have arrested drug peddler Gandasiri Nagaraju. He was earlier detained under PD Act by the Hyderabad Commissioner of Police July 7 last year. Soon after revocation of the Preventive order in February, 2018, he continued to indulge in similar offences.
Nagaraju used to purchase Ganja from Visakhapatnam at lower price and sell the same through his associates in Hyderabad at higher prices..
On a tip-off, the Bibinagar police nabbed the associates of Nagaraju namely Telu Naga Venkata Sathyanarayana, Korupula Lova Raju on June 6, 2018 at Guduru Toll gate while illegally transporting Ganja in an Auto. Later the police nabbed Nagaraju and two of his associates and recovered Auto trolley with 286 kg Ganja, a Samsung phone, Rs 1,000 cash, a Toyota car, a Nokia phone and one Samsung phone from his possession and his associates. All the accused were arrested and remanded to judicial custody.
With a view to preventing them from indulging in such illegal activities, Rachakonda Commissioner of Police Mahesh M. Bhagwat, IPS, invoked Preventive Detention order on both today and sent them to Cherlapally Central Prison.
