Hyderabad: The people of a village in Rajanna Sircilla district have imposed a lockdown from today. A 28-year-old man who had returned from a Gulf country has been subjected to lockdown in Gadam Village of Mustabad Mandal after his Omicron test came positive. This lockdown will be imposed for 10 days from today.

Locals have decided to impose a lockdown to prevent the spread of new variants in the village.

It is learned that the Sarpanch of Gadam, Srinivas Rao, along with the wife of the victim and her mother also tests positive for Covid. After which the locals have decided to implement lockdown in Gadam village for 10 days from today to prevent the spread of the virus. The young man returned from the Gulf country on December 20 and tested positive for Omicron.

The young man has gone for work and returned from Dubai some days ago. The youth’s blood samples were sent for genome sequencing and it showed that he was infected with Omicron variant. Later, an official of the health and medical department shifted the affected youth to the hospital.

The villagers have decided that no one from the village could go out for ten days and no outsider could enter the village. It should be noted that the case of Omicron was registered on December 20 in district.

The local man, who arrived in Hyderabad from Dubai on December 15 and underwent corona test on the same day, returned to his hometown.
