Hyderabad: The Telangana Congress Committee, President and MP, A. Revanth Reddy has alleged that both the Telangana Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao and the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Ys Jagan Mohan Reddy has colluded in sharing the Krishna River water. He said both the Chief Ministers has gone into agreement that Chandrasekhar Rao has gifted water to Andhra Pradesh.

Speaking with press persons at Gandhi Bhavan along with the senior Congress leaders and former ministers Ponnala Lakshmaiah and Mohd. Ali Shabbir today, Revanth Reddy has pointed out that the agreement between the two Chief Ministers has reached with regarding to Krishna water in the year 2015 at the resident-cum-camp office (Pragathi Bhavan).

Although it was clear that the agreement was for that year, it was extended annually.  He alleged that KCR was not trying for the rights of Telangana. 

The Telangana government has issued the G.O. No. 203 on May 5, 2020 allowing Andhra Pradesh to draw 8.3 TMC of water from the Pothireddypadu project by increasing from 4 TMC, and 3 TMC of water from Sangambanda via Rayalaseema Lift Irrigation scheme. He alleged that the KCR has also gifted to the Jagan Mohan Reddy to draw additional 11 TMC of additional water.

He pointed out that the former minister Nagam Janardhan Reddy already wrote a letter in this regard to the KCR saying that the Srisailam would dry up and Nagarjunasagar would become unusable.

Revanth Reddy pointed that Krishna River Management Board (KRMB) has called the meetings many time but KCR has not raised the issue. Now he is raising the issue for the political mileage. He was not trying to protect the rights of the people of Telangana and alleged that the people of the Telangana had been subjected to immense injustice for six year because of the mutual agreements.
