Hyderabad: Telangana Minister for Medical, Health and Family Welfare and Finance T. Harish Rao has inaugurated a new third floor with 100 beds at the District Hospital, Kondapur with the aim to expand healthcare services.

The new 100 bed facility, developed as part of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative with Mindspace Business Parks, REIT (Real Estate Investment Trust) is expected to play a vital role in providing free healthcare services during a possible third wave of Covid, said the Minister.

He added that a dialysis unit at the Kondapur District Hospital for patients with chronic kidney diseases also inaugurated.  

During the two Covid waves, as part of CSR initiatives, a total of 1300 beds were added in various government hospitals in Hyderabad and urged the Mindspace to adopt the Kondapur District Hospital and take up its annual maintenance.

To strengthen critical care facilities before a possible third Covid wave, the Health Minister said that the State government is in the process of adding 900 ICU beds in all government hospitals in Telangana with a cost of Rs. 150 crore.

Appeals Public Representatives to involve Promoting Covid Vaccination

Harish Rao urged public representatives including MLAs and Corporators to get involved to promote Covid Vaccination in a big way, before facing any fresh surge of Covid infections and added to administer vaccines to as many individuals as possible. 

The government is already vaccinating anywhere between 3.5 lakh to 4 lakh individuals on a daily basis. He urged people to get vaccinated at the earliest. . 

Minister for Education, P Sabitha Indra Reddy, Serilingampally MLA, Arekapudi Gandhi, CEO of Mindspace Business Park REIT, Vinod Rohira and others were present.
