Hyderabad, Nov.13 : The Telangana Government would take up with the Union Government for required financial assistance to establish a full-fledged motor driving school in each district headquarters in the State.
Disclosing this in the Assembly during question hour, the Minister for Transport Mahender Reddy said the State government has already established one of the biggest motor driving schools at Sircilla. He has agreed to favorably consider similar school in Hyderabad. The motor driving school at Sircilla was giving training to 19,000 persons every year, he explained.
The minister agreed to the contention of the members that imparting required driving skills, especially for heavy motor vehicles, was very important in view of the spurt in fatal road accidents. However, he pointed out that when compared to other States, least number of accidents occurred in Telangana State. The members also urged the minister to ensure that parking lots are also created along with establishment of driving schools. (NSS)
