Hyderabad, Sept.23 : A 24-year-old student Bale Somashekar Rao of J.J. Nagar of Nereedmet in Secunderabad was arrested by Trimulgherry police near Hanumanpet Kaman, Malkajgiri for abducting a boy.

According to police, complainant K Raju approached them on Friday stating his son aged 11 years did not return home from tuition at Mallareddy Nagar. He told police that he searched for his son everywhere in vain. He said he received a call from 9553895451 at 7 pm stating that his son was kidnapped and demanded a ransom of Rs 10 lakh for release of the boy, otherwise he would be killed.

Police said the accused planned to kidnap a minor boy and moved in Saraswathi Nagar area and found the victim on the road and approached the boy for a school address and took him away in a Maruthi Swift and lured the child by giving food at various places like Sainikpuri, Nacharam, O.U. Sity and Lalapet.

The police teams rushed to Nacharam to talk to a coconut vendor and also collected CCTV footages of the accused. Another team was deputed to O.U. Sity based on the calls list and collected footages of the Car and the Lalapet Coin Box. They apprehended the accused with the help of phone calls and CCTV footages.

During interrogation, the accused confessed to kidnapping the boy from Saraswathi Nagar, Trimulgherry and demanded Rs 10 lakh from boy’s parents. The police recovered one Maruthi Swift car, a toy pistol, a knife, Hydrogen climate liquid, one rope and a kerchief and first Aid Band. (NSS)
