Hyderabad, Feb 13 (Munsif News): The Chief Electoral Officer, Dr. Rajath Kumar informed that over 27.31 new voters have been enrolled during the Special Revision of Voters which has been conducted from January 1 to 26.
He said so far over 10 lakh new voters have been scrutinized in this and over 7 lakh are first time voters who has attained the age of 18 years and above as on January 1, 2019, if the entire process of scrutiny is completed, the first time voters figure will increase to double.
The Chief Electoral Officer, said that two days training programme has been conducted to the District Election Officer and Returning officers, in which the Chief Election Commissioner, Sunil Arora who was on his way to Vijaywada to review the arrangement for the Lok Sabha elections in Andhra Pradesh, has addressed the election officers. He said, the Chief Election Commissioner is satisfied with the arrangement and also peaceful conduct of Assembly elections. He has also met with the Chief Secretary Dr. S.K. Joshi, Director General of Police Mahender Reddy, Commissioner of Police, Anjani Kumar, GHMC Commissioner Dana Kishore and other officials.
The Chief Election Commissioner has instructed the Elections officers, that those who could not attend this training programme for them another training programme will be conducted at Delhi on February 20 and 21, they were supposed to attend compulsory.
The Chief Electoral Officer has praised all the Election Officers who had worked in the last Assembly elections and said without a single incident of violence or re poll, the elections process has been completed. But, he said, the suspended Collector of Vikarabad, Omer Jaleel has also worked hard, but unfortunately unknowingly he has committed the mistake of opening the EVM which was under the custody of Court. However, he said that Election Commission of India will go through the case and decide.
However, he has assured that in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections, the Commissioner will discharge his duties in more effective manner as per the rules and regulation and guidance given by the election commission.
In today’s, meeting training has been given to the Electoral Officers on the electoral roll, security plan, model code of conduct, awareness on different Judgement of Supre Court and High Court, tomorrow the training will be given on EVM/VVPAT, Media role, counting of votes and giving certificates, he said.
