Hyderabad, Sept 20 (Munsif News); Since the 2nd Special Revision of Electoral roll started from September 10 to till date nearly 18 lakhs new voters has been enrolled, still there is time 5 days, the number will increase more said the Chief Electoral Officer of Telangana Dr. Rajath Kumar.
Speaking to press persons, here today, the Chief Electoral Officer said that the Election Commission has identified 4.92 lakh voters as duplicate, having similar names, photos and addresses etc., he said notices has been issued to all those (saying that 100 per cent notices has been issued). In the case of deaths also 100 per cent notices has been issued.
Expressing satisfaction that 32,374 Booth Level Officers are on their job of enrolling the new voters, taking claims and objections and also serving the notice in the case of duplicate voters and in the cases of deaths.
he appealed to all the political parties, to depute their booth level agents to make the Electoral list, he clarified that the last date for taking claims and objections is upto September 25, but the new enrollment of voters will continue till 10 days before the filing of nomination date.
He said 44 thousand VVPAT machines has been reached in 23 districts, remaining machines will be reaching within 2 days, out of the 52,100 ballot boxes in this 39,470 has been received. He informed that 120 Master trainers has been sent to Delhi for training on operating the VVPAT machiens and units, as soon as they come, they will be giving training to the Booth Returning Officers in every polling booths. He said, mob polling will be conducted at all the polling stations for bringing awareness of voters, he said as off now, the Telangana State is having 19.044 Polling stations. (Munsif News)
