KCR reviews Mallanna Sagar works, wants waters in Project by June next

Hyderabad, May 11 : Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao today instructed the officials concerned to prepare a report to be submitted in High Court on the completion of works of Mallanna Sagar project.
KCR, who returned from his tour from Tamil Nadu here on Saturday, conducted a review meeting on the key project. He has already set a deadline of May 11 for completion of the works and sought to know about the ground report with the officials. At the meeting at Pragathi Bhavan, the Chief Minister discussed about the Mallanna Sagar project works.
It may be said here that he held a similar meeting on May 3 and asked his secretary Smitha Sabharwal to complete the works on a war-footing. Having asked for completion of payment of compensation to displaced people and victims of the project, KCR again asked about the works. The Chief Minister has asked them to give away Rs 800 crore funds towards compensation and rehabilitation works under the project in addition to providing employment programs.
He also sought to know the details of village wise camps to disburse the amount to the victims and displaced persons. Since the case is to be heard in the High Court on May 15, review meeting held by KCR gets importance. The officials have already taken up rescue, rehabilitation and compensation works by spending Rs 800 crore to help the victims. As major share of works have been completed and the remaining works should be completed on time and the project should get waters next June, he said.
