Hyderabad, June 1 (Munsif News) : After the formation of separate Telangana State in the year 2014, K.Chandrasekhar Rao who is first Chief Minister of newly formed state, has first time understood the backwardness of the Muslim Minorities and has taken several steps to uplift them educationally and economically.
As soon as he came to power, he has first taken the step to strengthen the Minority Corporation for the welfre of minorities, for their better education, employment generation by increasing the budget allocation.
In the combined state of Andhra Pradesh, the budget for Minorities for 23 districts in the year 2014-15 was Rs. 1,030 crores, After the formation Telangana state, the budget for Minorities welfare in the year 2015-16 was Rs. 1130 crores for only previous 10 districts, likewise, the budget has been increased in the year 2016-17 to Rs. 1204 crores, in 2017-18 Rs. 1249.66 crores and during this financial year 2018-19 it has been earmarked Rs. 2000 crores.
The Chief Minister has given the top priority for the education among the Minorities, as part of this efforts, he has taken several steps such as establishing Residential schools and Junior colleges for the poor Minorities students, scholarship and fee reimbursement, establishment of Study circles, funds is being released for the self financing courses, overseas scholarships for Minorities, IT SEZ for Muslims entrepreneours for which land is being identified. Ramzaan Festival has been declared as the State Festival, under this free cloths gift packets is being given to the poor Muslims.
12 PER CENT RESERVATION FOR MUSLIM MINORITIES
In order to benefit the Muslim Minority community to a great extent, government has decided to extend 12 per cent reservation on par with Tamil Nadu and a decision was taken in the State Assembly during January 2017. the bill is forwarded for the assent of the President.
The Chief Minister has constituted the Sudhir Commission to study the living standards of the Minorities which had toured the state and submitted a report which was against submitted to the BC Commission, which has recommended 12 per cent reservation quota under BC (E) for the backward Muslims. Government has established Minority Commission under the Chairmanship of Mohammed Qamaruddin.
Apart from this several schemes has been launched under self employment schme such as Own your auto, Own Your Cab, subsidy increased for small units from Rs. 1.00 lakh to Rs. 10 lakhs. Rs. 1000 honorarium for Imams, Mauzams, Islamic Centre-cum-Convention centre is coming up on 10 acres of land in Kokapet for which Rs. 40 crore was released and administration permissions were given. The Centre will coordinate activities of Muslims.
Development nd Preservation of Urdu Language for which the government has declared Urdu as 2nd official language in the entire state, improving infrastructuve facilities in Urdu medium schools, proposed to develop Urdu Ghar cum Wedding halls. the government has also issued orders making Urdu as a first Language option for the students, efforts are on to conduct DSC in Urdu to fill the vacancies, building pressure on the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to conduct NEET in Urdu Language.
The 4 years of KCR rule in the newly formed state has tried to address most of the problems being faced by the poor Muslims . (Munsif News)
