Hyderabad: The Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education (TSBIE) asked the first year Intermediate failed students not to worry about the marks and they can take the exam again in the month of April 2022 along with the upcoming Intermediate Public Examinations.

The TSBIE said, the first year exam results were announced recently and the students who have objections with the marks can apply for re-verification and recounting by paying the fees.

After the re-verification, the students will be provided with the scanned copies of their answer sheets along with the result.

The TSBIE added that this year, the Intermediate pass percentage has been reduced drastically by 11 per cent. A total of 49 per cent students both in regular and vocational were passed which include 56 percent of females and 42 percent of males.

Last year, the pass percentage was 60.01. A total of 5.59 lakh students (both regular and vocational) appeared for the exams of which 2.24 lakh were passed.

Meanwhile, members of various student organizations staged protest on Friday and Saturday at the Intermediate Board office in Nampally. They organized a protest against the sudden drop in the success rate in the intermediate first year results and said that due to the Covid students could not get proper education and as a result many students failed.

Leaders of student organizations demanded immediate action from the authorities to alleviate the unrest among the students, while the parents said that the board should give minimum marks to all the students and declare them pass.
