Hyderabad:  Traffic was disrupted and mild tension prevailed near Attapur in Rajendranagar after locals spotted a crocodile near the Musi river, today. The curious onlookers parked their vehicles on the roadside and tried to have a glimpse of the rare visitor, triggered traffic snarls, forcing the police to step in.

On receiving information, the Forest department officials and local police reached the spot.  But, by then the fully grown reptile went back floating into the river stream.

For the past two days, Hyderabad has been witnessing heavy rains, authorities believe that crocodiles were washed away in floodwaters from the Himayat Sagar and strayed into the Musi river.  The rescue teams from the Forest department reached the river bank by then.  Meanwhile, the Rajendranagar police have warned people not to venture near the banks of the Musi River.
