Hyderabad, July 11 (Munsif News): On the occasion of birth anniversary celebrations of late Nawab Ali Nawab Jung Bahadur, the then Engineer-in-Chief during the Nizam regime which is being celebrated as “Engineers Day” after the formation of Telangana State, the Minister for Irrigation, T. Harish Rao has garlanded the portrait of late Nawab Ali Nawab Jung Bahadur, and praised his contribution in the field of construction of irrigation projects and other historical buildings in Telangana.
Speaking on the occasion at Jala Soudha, today, Harish Rao said that the contribution of Nawab Ali Jung Bahadur is not limited to irrigation project along, he has constructed the World famous Osmania Arts College building, Assembly building, High Court Building, Central Library, Hyderabad House at Delhi, apart from constructing the then world biggest water reservoir Nizam Sagar, Ali Sagar, Wyra sagar at Khammam. for drinking water in Hyderabad city, he has constructed Gandipet and Himayatsagar. . The Minister said that the contribution of Nawab Ali Jung Bahadur was sidelined during the United Andhra Pradesh regime. Immediately after Telangana was formed in the year, 2014, the government has declared official celebration of birthday of Nawab Ali Jung Bhadur as the “Engineers Days”. The Minister said that the idea of construction of common reservoir between Tamil Nadu and Hyderabad state on River Krishna and Tungabadra has come to Nawab Ali Jung Bahadur, said the Minister.
He called upon all the Engineers to contribute their expertise for the development. (Munsif News)
