Ex-MP Lagadapati Tries to Stop Police from Searching his Friend’s House

Hyderabad, Nov.9 : Former Lok Sabha Member from Vijayawada and Industrialist Lagadapati Rajagopal has tried to stop the police officials from searching the residence of his friend and Busiinessman G P Reddy late last night, an official said.

On coming to know that police officials have reached GP Reddy’s House in Jubilee Hills here, Rajagopal rushed there, and he questioned the officers’ action without a search warrant. He entered into a heated argument with the officers present there, and he stopped them from entering the house.

He also alleged that the police were harassing his friend by conducting midnight searches though GP Reddy was extending cooperation in the probe into a civil case. When a sub-inspector was speaking with his senior on the phone, Rajagopal snatched it spoke in an angry tone to the person across the line.

Rajagopal alleged that Inspector General of Police Nagi Reddy was behind the search. It is said that a case was registered against Reddy for allegedly faking documents related to a land belonging to a police official.

West Zone Deputy Commissioner of Police A.R. Srinivas clarified that police had gone to Reddy’s house as part of the ongoing probe in to a case, and added that the police officials have a right to question an accused person at any time. The police officials have gone there as part of their duty, he added.
