Hyderabad, Sept.26 : In a broad light today, a 24-year-old electrician was axed to death at 11-30 am near Attapur at Pillar No 140 under Rajendranagar Police limits.
According to police, deceased Jerigalla Ramesh of Myadari caste and residing at Siddiamber Bazaar, attended before Upparapalli criminal court in connection with a murder case. While Ramesh was returning from the court in an auto, his two rivals stopped the vehicle and tried to attack him with an axe. The fear-stricken victim jumped from the auto and took to his heels in order to escape from the duo. At that juncture, a traffic police constable on duty Lingamurthy tried to save the victim by giving him lift on his motorbike. But the angry accused pushed the bike to the ground and attacked the victim with an axe at Pillar No 140. The victim was butchered to death in full view of the onlookers.
Even as the passersby tried to prevent the accused Vaddegoni Kishan Goud, 48, and Ampalle Laxman Goud, 25, dealt multiple blows with an axe till death. The police, who were among the spectators to the gory incident, took the culprits, who were drunk, into custody. Police said the victim and the accused are residents of Jumerath Bazaaar under Shahinayat Gunj police limits.
The police said that Ramesh Goud killed one Mahesh Goud at Shamshabad as the latter had an illegal relationship with his wife. Ramesh was arrested in that case and came out on bail. Ramesh attended Upparapally Court in this regard. Mahesh’s father and his relative killed Ramesh when the latter was going back after appearing in the Court
