Hyderabad, May 15 (Munsif News): The Commissioner for Civil Supplies, Akun Sabharwal has warned those involved in recycling of PDS rice and said that they will be booked under Criminal cases and also will put under PD cases.
The Enforcement and Taskforce teams are keeping strict vigil on PDS rice irregularities and caught 540 quintal of price transporting in 4 lorries from Varun Industries situated at KC Camp, Huzurabad Mandal, Karimnagar District. The Commissioner has transferred the responsible DCSO A. Usharani and ordered her to report at Head Office, He also transfereed Deputy Tahasildar M.A. Nawaz and Food Inspector Anwarulla Khan to Revenue department. He warned that strict action will be taken on the persons involved and no one will be spared in this issue. .
The Commissioner made a field visit to Karimnagar, Warangal districts, he inspected IKP Purchase Centers at Manakondur, Keshavapatnam and reviewed with officials in Karimnagar. He visited IKP Purchase Centers in Warangal Rural, Urban, Bhoopalpalli, Mahaboobabad and reviewed with officials in Hanamkonda and discussed with the farmers. He also visited Jangaon, Yadadri and reviewed with officials. He ordered officials to take necessary steps to see that farmers do not face any loss or problems, paddy purcahsing should be completed faster and shifting of paddy to mills.
The Commissioner informed that Civil Supplies Department purchased 20.95 lakh metric tonnes of paddy till now from 3.21 lakh farmers through 3119 purchase centers and 20.06 Lakh Metric Tonnes of paddy is already shifcted to mills. The value of paddy purchased till now is Rs. 3327.71 crores. (Munsif News)
