Hyderabad, Aug.17 : The Congress leaders and workers today celebrated 75th birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. A special meeting was held in Prakasam hall in Gandhi Bhavan to mark the occasion. TPCC general secretary Afzaluddin, TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy’s wife Padmavati Reddy, TPCC general secretaries Vinod Reddy and Premlal participated in the meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, Padmavati Reddy alleged that the country was witnessing anti-Constitutional rule. She said the secular governance in the country had turned into communal under the BJP-led NDA rule. She said there were restrictions on every thing like cultures and traditions, food and clothes. She recalled that previous Congress governments had ensured religious freedom in the country. Late Rajiv Gandhi had brought in Information Technology revolution in the country. (NSS)
