CM urged to implement 12% quota for Muslims

Hyderabad, May 30 : Demanding that the TRS government honour its promise of providing 12% reservation to Muslims in the State, the All India Muslim Minority Organisation (AIMMO) here on Wednesday urged Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao to take immediate steps to protect properties of the Telangana Wakf Board, ensure 12% quota to Muslims and implement welfare programs for Muslim minorities.

Speaking to mediapersons here today, former director of AP State Minority Finance Corporation MA Siddiqui and All India Muslim Minority Organization Chairman Syed Muqtar Hussain said nothing has been done for the Muslims in the last two years. They demanded that the Chief Minister implement welfare programs to benefit one lakh Muslims Minorities in the State.

They also demanded that the State Minority Corporation help the jobless poor to earn for their bread and butter. They pointed out that as per the government records, only 20% of the budget was utilized out of Rs 1,305 crore budget (2017-18).

The AIMMO also demanded that Ranganath Mishra Panel’s recommendation for job reservation for Minorities be implemented immediately.
