CM honored all promises: Srihari

Hyderabad, May 17 : Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari today said the TRS Government has launched several welfare schemes though not promised in party manifesto in the State while the previous government had miserably failed to keep its promises.

The Deputy Chief Minister participated in Rythu Bandhu scheme at Gudur village in Jangaon district and distributed cheques and land passbooks among the farmers. Speaking on the occasion, Srihari maintained that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has kept all the promises mentioned in the manifesto like providing nine-hour power to farm sector, Rs one lakh loans and resolved power crisis in just six months of coming to power.

He said KCR also waived Rs 17,000 crore crop loans and helped the farmers by offering 24-hour power supply free of cost to farm sector. Unlike other States and chief ministers in the country, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar was always thinking for the cause of the farmers and launching several schemes relentlessly. He attributed the Rythu Bandhu scheme to the generous nature of the Chief Minister, who himself a farmer. It is not simple to bring in such a unique program which was being appreciated by other States and leaders.

Srihari also maintained that the TRS government has plans to spend a total of Rs 12,000 crore on Rythu Bandhu scheme and in the first phase, half of the amount was deposited in the banks. The Chief Minister asked the bankers to ensure that the farmers with Rythu Bandhi cheques should be given cash without any delay, he informed. Now the farmers are happy to receive Rs 4,000 per acre in the first phase and will receive similar amount in second phase likely in November, he said.

“Despite all such welfare schemes, the Opposition was afraid of its bleak future and resorting to malign the image of the government, he fumed. The Opposition should stop getting envious on the schemes and stop stalling growth, he suggested. The Congress and the BJP should desist from misleading the farmers and people with their false and baseless charges, he added
