Hyderabad, April 11 : GHMC Commissioner-cum-Hyderabad District Election Officer Dana Kishore this evening expressed his satisfaction over the peaceful conclusion of polling in all the constituencies in Greater Hyderabad. He thanked all the citizens, officials and social organizations for ensuring incident-free elections in the capital city.
In a statement here this evening, Dana Kishore regretted that the percentage of polling was not as expected due to scorching heat and continuous holidays for the working people in the city. In the history of Hyderabad, there was not even a single untoward incident in the city and the polling went on peacefully for which the District Election Officer expressed thanks to political parties’ leaders, employees and citizens.
Dana Kishore also pointed out that special arrangements made for the convenience of disabled voters were highly useful. He also thanked profusely all those who involved in the election process like voluntary organizations, volunteers, police personnel, mediapersons and officials of all the departments.
Dana Kishore had supervised the polling process from the Command Control Room set up in his office. Along with him, election nodal officers Viswajit Kampati, Harichandana, Jayaraj Kennedy, Srinivas Reddy, Vijayalakshmi, Hyderabad and Secunderabad returning officers Manik Raj, Ravi and others also supervised the polling process from the Command Control Room.
Compared to previous elections, there were no complaints of rigging and snatching away EVMs and so on, the GHMC Commissioner added. (NSS)
